Impossible Cities
After reading the novel Invisible Cities by Italo Calvino, the artist was fascinated by the rich fictitious universe of Marco Polo's explorations along the Silk Road.
A few years later, she used this fascination to create a series of fantastic paintings, both in big and small format, bearing the names of these mythical cities as their titles.
They were in the 2003 solo exhibition at the Port-Maurice Galery in Montreal and got rave reviews. The onirical universe created in this series is a milestone in the artist's works and
we can still see its influence in her recent works.
The series Impossibles Cities is composed of small (45 x 40 cm) and large paintings (60 x 80 cm).
